Hertfordshire live-in care FAQs
What jobs can my live-in carer do at home?
Your live-in carer can offer a wide range of practical assistance and day-to-day support. That includes light housework (vacuuming, washing clothes, etc.) and preparing meals, as well as supporting you with health care and personal care. Your carer isn’t allowed to do DIY, give injections or change dressings on
open wounds.
Can I have a male carer?
Yes. If you’d prefer a male carer, we’ll make sure to note this preference on your care plan.
Can I have a female carer?
Yes. You’re free to choose exclusively female carers if that’s your preference.
Can my carer help with pet care?
Yes, as long as this is discussed when we put together your care plan. If you need help with pet care, we’ll make sure to pair you with a carer who loves animals.
What are my options if I don’t get on with my carer?
It’s simple: if you’re unhappy with your carer, we’ll send a replacement. However, our Hertfordshire home care team is very careful to match clients with carers who share their interests and outlook on life. That means it’s very unlikely you won’t ‘click’.
