What is live in care for young adults?
Live in care is when a carer lives in your home with you so that they can provide round the clock one to one care. They will need to have their own room and access to amenities, but they will be there to help you when you need it.
A live in carer can help with a range of tasks in your home such as cleaning, cooking, bathing and personal care, food shopping, help getting dressed or ready for bed and many other things to make your life easier and help you to look after yourself.
Live in care is ideal as it can allow you to remain living at home or to live independently so you can remain in familiar surroundings and enjoy the freedom to do what you want, when you want to.
Why hire a live in carer?
If you’re a young adult with additional care needs then a live in carer can be the stepping stone to living independently – allowing you to move out of the family home or a care facility so you can learn to take care of yourself or with the assistance of a specialist carer.
Your live in carer can provide you with as much or as little assistance as you need, if there are things you would like to try doing independently, they will allow and encourage you to do these things, only stepping in if necessary or with your permission.
