Home care visits to suit you
It’s easy to think that needing more support has to mean moving into a care home. But that’s simply not true. With visiting care, you can get tailored support on your own terms – and always in your own home.
How it works is simple. When you contact us, we’ll listen to your needs and create a care plan that’s 100% tailored to you. This makes sure you get the right kind of support at a schedule that suits your lifestyle. That could mean one 30-minute visit each week or several visits a day – whatever you need to stay comfortable and independent.
And with Novus Care, you can expect support from a carer who understands your needs and is trained to provide the best possible care. We’re a QCQ-regulated domiciliary care agency, and we employ all our carers directly. All are DBS-checked and undergo regular training, including training for complex health conditions like dementia and Parkinson’s disease. This way, we can always keep your safety and comfort as top priorities.
What is visiting care?
Visiting care is when a trained carer visits you at home from time to time. It’s a very flexible kind of care built around your schedule, lifestyle and unique needs. Your home visit carer can pop in for as little as 30 minutes once a week or visit you several times a day. It’s all about finding the right schedule and support to help you stay independent in your own home.
Visiting care is sometimes known as ‘domiciliary home care’ or ‘home visit care’. When a carer lives with you 24/7, it’s called ‘live-in care’.
What does domiciliary care provide?
When you choose Novus Care, the first thing we’ll do is create a unique care plan that your home visit carer will follow. This way, you get just the right kind of support for your health and lifestyle needs – and at a schedule to suit you. That might mean getting help with:
• Shopping and appointments (picking up groceries, dropping off repeat prescriptions, collecting medication, etc.)
• Chores (tidying up, making the bed, ironing clothes, cleaning, etc.)
• Meals (helping you choose what to eat or preparing meals for you)
• Getting out and about (accompanying you on day trips or to medical appointments)
• Looking after pets (walking the dog, keeping food and water topped up, etc.)
• Medical care (administering medication and helping you keep track of it)
• Personal care (help with washing, dressing, grooming and toileting)
• Complex care (support for long-term or recurring health conditions)
• Companionship (stopping by to keep you company)

Long-term visiting care
With this kind of care, there’s no fixed end for our home care visits. We’ll pop by as often as you like and adjust our schedule to suit your developing needs. The important thing is that it’s all on your terms. You get to decide when we visit, how often we visit and what kind of care you receive. This option might suit you if you’re still independent but need a bit of extra help to manage a long-term health condition or disability.
Visiting respite care
Respite care means care on a short-term basis. With this option, we’ll still visit you on home at a schedule that suits you. However, there’s never any pressure to commit to a long-term care plan.
Visiting respite care might be a good fit if your usual carer needs to take a break for a while. It’s also a good option if you’ve been in hospital and want help to recover at home.
Visiting overnight care
Visiting overnight care is just what it sounds like. Your carer will pop by in the evening and stay until morning. That usually means nightly visits – but we can visit less often if that suits you better. It might suit you if you have a complex condition that needs extra care at night – or if you just want extra peace of mind. With overnight care, you’ll always know a trusted person is there to offer support if you need it.
Home care visits for companionship
We all need a bit of company from time to time. If you live alone or can’t get out and about as much as you used to, you might want to consider visiting companionship care. You’ll still get visits from a trained carer, but they’ll focus more on social activities than home help or health care. This could mean sharing hobbies, accompanying you on trips or just stopping by for a cuppa and a chat.
Can’t decide which type of care is best for you? As a trusted domiciliary care agency, we’ve helped people like you across England find the support they need to stay independent at home. Get in touch with our team today and we’ll arrange a free care assessment.
Do I need visiting care?
Not sure if you’re ready for domiciliary home care? Asking yourself these questions might help you make a decision:
• Are you asking for help around the home more often?
• Could you do with a bit of extra help with housework or shopping?
• Is it getting harder to cope with washing, dressing or getting out and about?
• Do you have a complex condition that’s getting harder to cope with, but you don’t want to go into a care home?
• Are you receiving hospital treatment and need help to recover at home?
• Are you feeling lonely and think you’d benefit from having a friendly face around
Remember: it’s different for every person. Some people we support only want a bit of extra help around the house. Others have complex health conditions and need regular visits to help with mobility, medication and personal care.
What’s important is that our care makes life easier for you. If you think some extra support would help you stay comfortable and independent, why not get in touch and chat about your options?
