Dedicated Home Care for Stroke Patients
A stroke can have a varying impact on someone’s life, with the severity and the quickness in which someone is treated playing a significant part.
Some people can have transient ischaemic attacks (TIA) (also known as mini strokes), with minimal side effects. For others affected by severe strokes, they can be left with paralysis, mobility issues, speech issues and more.
However, we believe adapting to life after a stroke is much easier in an environment your loved one knows best – their own home.
We specialise in providing dedicated, one-to-one after-stroke care at home – from daily domiciliary care visits to full-time live-in care.
Our experienced carers are here for families too – supporting family carers through respite care breaks, so they can enjoy well-deserved time away.
What Types of Post-Stroke Home Care Do We Offer?
Recovery after a stroke can be a long and difficult process. However, with the right care and commitment to rehabilitation, there can be improvements and even a full recovery – depending on age and severity of the stroke.
Once your loved one has left hospital care , we can pair you with a highly experienced carer with a specialism in stroke after-care.
We offer different types of stroke home care, including:
- Visiting stroke home care – survivors of strokes can receive weekly or daily support, from as little as half an hour a week. They can receive extra support without compromising independence and continue on the road to rehabilitation.
- 24-hour stroke live-in care – we can provide tailored care for people impacted by severe strokes. One of our carers will move into the home of your loved one to deliver one-to-one support.
- Respite care – we understand just how challenging it can be to adjust after a loved one has suffered a stroke. Our temporary respite care ensures relief care is in place, so family carers can take a break.
Across all our post-stroke home care services, we take a person-centric approach. Each of our clients has a bespoke care plan built around their needs.
We collaborate closely with individuals, families, district nurses, hospitals, local GPs and healthcare organisations to create a flexible after-care plan – that considers emotional needs, as well as healthcare needs.
