Wiltshire live-in care FAQs
What are live-in carers allowed to help with?
Your live-in carer can help with many tasks at home and out and about. That includes doing light chores, cooking meals, looking after pets, running errands and assisting with personal care. They’re not allowed to give injections, change dressings on open wounds or carry out home improvements.
Will my live-in carer need their own room?
Yes. As a minimum, your live-in carer will need a private room with a single bed and a wardrobe or chest of drawers. They can share other facilities with you and your family.
Who will provide cover when my carer takes a break?
Carers take short regular breaks and longer (1-2 week) breaks every 3 to 6 weeks. We’ll cover the longer breaks by sending a replacement carer. We can also cover the shorter breaks at an additional cost.
What health conditions can you support?
Our carers are trained to support anyone aged 18 or over, including people living with specific health conditions. That means you can count on us for high-quality, person-centric cancer care, stroke care and dementia care in Wiltshire. We also care for people living with learning difficulties, mental health challenges and more. See a full list of conditions we support.
Are carers background-checked?
Yes. Carers go through several rigorous checks before recruitment, including DBS checks.
