Surrey home care FAQs
Who provides care while my carer takes a break?
Carers must take at least 14 hours of breaks each week. A family member can cover these breaks, or – if this isn’t possible – we can provide a replacement carer at an additional cost.
What happens if my carer goes on holiday or is off sick?
In this case, we’ll guarantee another carer to take their place. This comes as part of your Surrey live-in care package and won’t incur an additional cost.
What housekeeping work can my carer help with?
Your carer can assist with light cleaning and household upkeep. That includes things like washing clothes, polishing furniture and vacuuming floors.
What jobs are carers not allowed to do?
Carers can’t do heavy chores, home improvements or DIY. And while they can help with many health care tasks, they’re not allowed to give injections or change dressings on open wounds.
Can I specify a male or female carer?
Yes. We want you to feel safe and comfortable with your live-in carer. That’s why we give you the choice of a male or female carer.
