Why work in care?
Whether you are looking to change your career, leave school or return to work, there are a variety of reasons to become a carer. Working in the care sector is renowned for being one of the most rewarding jobs you can do as you’re making a difference to people’s lives… every single day. Being a carer means you are able to make a real difference to peoples’ lives on a daily basis – from cooking their favourite meal, to taking clients out for the day to local parks and clubs. If you’re looking for a career with a difference then here are a number of reasons to become a carer:
Being a carer is a rewarding career
It really is one of the most rewarding jobs anyone can do. At the end of each day, you’ll come home from work feeling satisfied you have done your best to help. Knowing that you are making the difference to someone’s life is an extremely rewarding experience. No two days or clients are ever the same as you’re supporting the elderly and those living with a variety of health care needs to live independently in their homes.
Flexible working hours
If you want the freedom to choose your own hours to fit around your family commitments or study plans then being a carer is the perfect solution. We even have people who have retired and returned to work and became a carer because they were not ready to retire!
Work locally!
Being a carer allows you to work in your local community. This is ideal for those who have family commitments especially mums looking for a job close to where the children go to school or nursery. This cuts out all the stress of having to commute each day and reduces your travel expenses significantly.
A job where every day is different
Being a carer is a varied role where no two days are ever the same. One day, you may be helping someone to get up and dressed. Another client may want you to take them to visit family or friends or to take them to their local WI or painting class or just to sit them or do some shopping…it all depends on what they want to do.
No experience? No problem!
You don’t need to have a degree or specific qualifications to work as a carer. However, you must have a genuine desire to help other people. A number of people become a carer as they have cared for a sick relative or close friend. We’ll provide on-the-job training to ensure you have all of the necessary skill-sets to do the job.
Training and development tailored to you
We’re committed to helping you reach your full potential. Which is why, whether you’re new to care or experienced, you’ll benefit from our innovative training which is tailored to your needs, preparing you for your role as a carer and helping you understand what you need to do your job well.
