What will my live-in carer do?

Your live-in carer is there to give you the support you need to stay as active and independent as possible. Kent homecare FAQs

Can my carer help care for my pet?
Yes – your carer can help look after your pet. Just make sure you tell us when we put together your care plan. We’ll make sure to match you with a carer who loves animals and is happy to care for them.

What are my options if I don’t get on with my carer?
At Novus Care, we’re very careful to match clients with carers who share their interests and have the same outlook on life. This means it’s very likely you’ll get on with your carer. If you have any concerns, however, we’ll be happy to match you with a new carer.

How long will one carer stay at my home?
We try to keep you with the same carer for as long as possible. However, your usual carer will need to take a short break from time to time – typically every three to six weeks. While they’re on a break, we’ll send a different carer to make sure you always have the support you need.

Are carers DBS-checked?
Yes. For your safety, we also run checks with Kent police and local safeguarding authorities. Carers are not allowed to start work until they’ve passed these checks.

How will my care be managed?
You’ll work with a care manager at our Kent care agency office in Maidstone. It’s their job to supervise your care and check you’re getting the right level of support. In addition, your carer will undergo spot checks and observations to make sure they’re providing the best possible care.
