Working in the UK

Working in the UK as a carer

Whether you already work as a carer or are considering a career as a carer, you will probably know that the role of a carer is demanding and requires patience, compassion and a desire to help people.

But is can also be incredibly rewarding to look after someone and support them in their daily life, building a professional relationship and helping to make their life easier.

You’ll have a number of responsibilities as a carer – providing support with mobility, overseeing medication, household chores, running errands, personal care and companionship. The degree to which you will need to provide these will depend on the individual needs of the clients and how much independence they are able to retain. We like to encourage independence where we can if it safe and comfortable for the client.
